Indonesia Photo Exhibit to Celebrate ADA, WILD Alumni

Date:

Our Brilliant and Resilient photo exhibit will be displayed this month as part of an Indonesia-based ADA celebration.

The @america center, a cutting-edge cultural center in Jakarta, Indonesia that showcases U.S. culture and experiences through performances, discussions, and exhibitions, will host the Brilliant and Resilient photo exhibit on Saturdays and Sundays throughout September 2015. The exhibition, which features portraits and vignettes of 30 women leaders with disabilities who are alumni of MIUSA’s Women’s Institute on Leadership and Disability, will be displayed at the @america center in recognition of the 25th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).

On September 9th, @america will also host an evening ADA anniversary “talk show” concurrent with the exhibit to highlight the impact of the ADA on the lives of people with disabilities both in the U.S. and globally. Speakers will include Indonesian WILD alumna Mimi Lusli as well as MIUSA CEO Susan Sygall, who will present via digital video conferencing from Eugene, Oregon.
