Building skills and confidence to be community leaders
Seven young people with disabilities ages 16 – 18 from the U.K. travel to Oregon, USA for our 14-day cross-cultural exchange program in July. Participants, sponsored and selected by the U.S. Embassy London, stay with host families, volunteer in community service activities, explore disability rights issues, and build their skills as future leaders. The National Clearinghouse on Disability and Exchange is a project of the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs, designed to increase the participation of people with disabilities in international exchange between the United States and other countries, and is supported in its implementation by Mobility International USA.
