This program increases the capacity of participants to provide recreation, sport and physical education programs that include youth with disabilities and to improve opportunities for youth with disabilities to participate fully in society.

Program Activities:

The U.S./Bahrain Inclusive Sports & Recreation for Youth with Disabilities Exchange Program brought together seven Bahraini sports and recreation professionals with and without disabilities, and two Bahraini leaders representing the Bahrain Disabled Sports Federation (BDSF), including:

  • Mr. Essam Kamal, Director of BDSF
  • Ms. Wasna'a Al Aradi, Head of the Disability Challengers Youth Committee of BDSF

Participants took part in interactive workshops, instructional seminars, site visits, sport demonstrations and recreation programs. The program focused on increasing the capacity of participants to provide recreation, sport and physical education programs that include youth with disabilities and to improve opportunities for youth with disabilities to participate fully in society.
