About Mobility International USA (MIUSA)

MIUSA is a US-based non-profit organization, whose goal is to empower people with disabilities through international exchange, and to ensure the inclusion of people with disabilities in international exchange and international development. 

Since 1981, MIUSA has coordinated international exchange programs in the US and overseas, bringing together international groups of people with and without disabilities for cross-cultural, cross-disability leadership training and capacity building. MIUSA has unique experience coordinating programs in the US and overseas including people with and without disabilities from former Soviet and Eurasian countries, and predominately Muslim countries.

MIUSA Support Services to Placement Organizations

MIUSA provides free, ongoing support services, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA), to assist FLEX & YES Placement Organizations (POs) and host community organizations to enhance the experience of FLEX & YES students with disabilities. 

For example, upon request, MIUSA can:

• Contribute to brainstorming and problem-solving discussions 
• Offer ideas and practical suggestions
• Provide referrals and facilitate linkages with appropriate local or national resources
• Provide informational materials relevant to the situation
• Facilitate communication between with other organizations or individuals who have had similar or related experiences
• Provide information about enrichment activities of potential interest to FLEX or YES students with disabilities such as wheelchair sports or disability-related events

• Provide other assistance as appropriate and requested
