A message from Susan Sygall

I have seen the impact the Future Leaders Exchange (FLEX) and Youth Exchange and Study (YES) programs have had on all students, especially students with disabilities. As the CEO of MIUSA, I strongly encourage all FLEX and YES students, with and without disabilities to reflect on your experience in the U.S., and to return to your countries and assist in the recruitment of more students with disabilities.
My dream is that 15-20% of all FLEX and YES students will be students with disabilities. This will represent the percentage of people with disabilities in every country in the world. I believe that people with disabilities must have the same opportunities as non-disabled people to become leaders in our communities, countries and in the world, in whatever profession we choose.
I thank each of you in your efforts to ensure that students with disabilities have an opportunity to participate in the FLEX and YES programs.
