This conference, focused on the theme "Multiple Intersections," will explore a "recognition that campuses, and the larger society beyond, become inclusive or exclusive/disabling or usable based on the design of the environments with which disabled individuals intersect. Students with disabilities intersect with curricular, policy, technological, physical, and attitudinal environments on a daily basis. [The] theme encourages research and practice proposals that explore these intersections and consider how service professionals, as allies to students with disabilities, can impact the design of underlying systems to create inclusive and sustainable campuses."
At AHEAD the NCDE will be presenting on the topic of supporting students with disabilities as they prepare to study abroad. Please join us on Wednesday, July 16th from 11:30am-1:00pm.
We will also be exhibiting, attending sessions, and participating in discussion - please stop by our booth during the conference.
We hope to see you there!
