International Public Policy Fellowship Program
The following is a great opportunity for young people to get started on an international career! Students with disabilities from minority backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Applications are due each March!
The United Negro College Fund Special Programs Corporation is accepting applications from outstanding minority undergraduate students for the Institute for International Public Policy's fellowship program. Funded by a grant from the Department of Education, the Institute is a national program that provides students with especially designed education and training experiences critical to entry and advancement in international affairs careers.
Students are recruited from across the country to participate in a five-year sequence of summer policy institutes, study abroad, intensive language training, internships and graduate study.
Fellowship includes:
- Sophomore Summer Policy Institute: (Spelman College): tuition, housing, meals, books & materials, airfare to Washington, DC & NYC for study missions.
- Junior Year Abroad Program: up to half of study abroad costs at an approved program.
- Junior Summer Policy Institute: (University of Maryland): airfare to and from Institute, tuition, housing, meals, books & materials.
- Internship: living stipend based on location. Professional career advisors are available to assist fellows in the selection of internships.
- Summer Language Institute (Middlebury College): tuition for 8-11 week immersion language training and living stipend.
- Graduate School: up to $15,000 towards a Master’s degree in international affairs.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Underrepresented minority (African American, Hispanic/Latino, American Indian, Asian American, Alaskan Native, Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander).
- U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
- Sophomore student enrolled full time at a four year institution (or freshman with sophomore advanced standing per advanced placement credits)
- Minimum 3.2. GPA
- Demonstrable interest in international affairs.
Annual application deadline is every March!
