WHAT?

During this TeleTraining foreign language professors shared their knowledge and experiences on:

  • Historical and theoretical overviews of disability
  • Methodologies inclusive of Deaf, hard of hearing and hearing students
  • Overseas programs designed to accommodate wheelchair users alongside non-disabled students
  • Resources to increase the ability of foreign language teachers and administrators to address the broad spectrum of language learners

The National Clearinghouse on Disability and Exchange (NCDE)

Established in 1995, the National Clearinghouse on Disability and Exchange (NCDE) is sponsored by U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs and administered by Mobility International USA (MIUSA). Its goals are to educate people with disabilities and related organizations about international exchange opportunities; increase the participation of people with disabilities in the full range of international volunteer, study, work and research programs; advise international exchange organizations about disability inclusion and accessibility abroad; and facilitate partnerships between people with disabilities, disability-related organizations and international exchange programs.
