About the US-Muslim World Exchange Initiative

Mobility International USA (MIUSA) has been dedicated to empowering people with disabilities around the world through international exchange since 1981. MIUSA's Muslim World initiative, sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, works to increase the participation of people with disabilities from predominantly Muslim countries in the Middle East, North Africa, South Asia and South East Asia and the United States in international exchange opportunities.

The initiative focuses on:

  • Networking with disability-led organizations in predominantly Muslim countries to encourage students and professionals with disabilities to apply for scholarships to study or do professional programs in the United States.
  • Training organizations administering the scholarships on how to successfully recruit and accommodate students and professionals with disabilities from predominantly Muslim countries in their international exchange programs to the United States.
