Growing Up with a Disability: Costa Rica Cross Cultural/Cross Disability Leadership Exchange

Sharing Culture and Conversations in Costa RicaDavid as a 21-year-old  took a year away from college to work on a project about people with disabilities. He has been interviewing people about their experiences living with a disability and records their stories and his reflections on his blog. David has also been a peer mentor and participant in the Illinois Youth with Disabilities Leadership Summit. Last year he was awarded the Justin Dart Jr. “Lead On” Award for demonstrating “strength of character and leadership potential”.  David is quadriplegic and uses a specialized power wheelchair and a personal assistant. David shares his Costa Rican adventures on his blog Growing up with a Disability.
