Watch video interviews of people with disabilities who have participated in international exchange programs talking about their experiences abroad: preparation, living abroad with a disability, returning home and more.

Reveca Torres Reveca Torres was a community college student in Illinois before participating on an international exchange program to England and then later to France to study fashion and costume design.  Reveca has a spinal cord injury and uses a power wheelchair.

Reveca talks about her first time abroad and gives advice to others with disabilities interested in international exchange.

 

Ingrid PresentsIngrid Ioan is an international student from Romania studying International Studies with a business focus concentrating on Western Europe at the University of Oregon.  She began her studies in the U.S. at the American English Institute.  Ingrid uses a manual wheelchair.

Alina IvanovaAlina Ivanova is a high-school student from Perm, Russia participating in the year-long Future Leaders Exchange (FLEX) Program in the United States.  Alina is a double-amputee. 

Alina talks about why she feels an international exchange experience is important, what her parents thought about it and how she talked to them, initial impressions of the U.S. and advice for other people with disabilities who would like to participate in international exchange.
