DeafBlind Traveler and Volunteer Touches the Developing World
A nomad with a purpose, Christine (aka Coco) authors an online blog on Deaf-Blindness called "Tactile the World." In her blog, she wrote about her 16-month volunteer experience in Abuja, Nigeria through Voluntary Service Overseas and her travels following her volunteer service. Christine, who has Usher syndrome, often networks with the Deaf communities in the countries she visits, whether learning New Zealand Sign Language or giving workshops on disability in Cambodia.
Christine is currently in Nepal, where she works as a director of the Nepal Deafblind Project. She calls Nepal her home and hopes that she will contribute to the empowerment of many Deafblind people she has met since she first came to Nepal in 2010.
