Education & Mobility in France and Turkey
Emma Verrill studied with CIEE in France for a semester. In her blog she writes about experiencing the different cultures and society. Wheelchair access was made easier with the assistance of friends she quickly made on the study abroad program.
Emma also did side trips during the semester around France and to Seville, Spain and Sicily. About her Istanbul experience, she wrote, "It is hard and scary to travel where you don't speak the language, and aren't familiar with the culture, not to mention the fear of not knowing the physical landscape where you are traveling." Despite this, Emma expects a lifetime of traveling and living abroad:
"I am officially home and not ready to admit that I am no longer living in France. I'm not sure what is next, but I know for sure this is not the end of traveling and I will be back to at least visit Rennes in the very near future. Stay tuned for more travels ... even if they are stateside travels!"
