Advancing disability rights and leadership globally®

We enjoyed a fun-filled powerful evening with voices of women who are changing the world, while supporting MIUSA’s efforts to advance disability rights and leadership globally.

Our annual celebration and fundraiser event took place Thursday, May 15, 5:30 – 7:00 pm at Temple Beth Israel, a state of the art accessible facility, in Eugene, Oregon. We had a wonderful evening of activism, partnerships and peace with all our Mobility International USA supporters and 15 women activists with and without disabilities from Pakistan. We heard from our Pakistani delegates about the challenges and accomplishments in working for women's and disability rights issues and their experiences here in Eugene.

The evening also included:

  • Live harp and mandolin music thanks to the talents of David Helphand
  • Hors d’oeuvres and desserts deliciously prepared by our staff, caterers, and local restaurants (see below)
  • Translations by our tireless Urdu, American Sign Language, and Certified Deaf interpreters
  • Opening remarks by Dr. Alex-Assensoh, the Vice-President for Equity and Inclusion of the University of Oregon and Shelley Snow, MIUSA Board Member
  • Lively verbal auction skillfully done by Dale Hartley and all our generous bidders who went home with some of the finest donated gifts from venues around the state
  • Closing remarks by MIUSA Co-Founder and CEO Susan Sygall and many raffles and door prizes given to lucky winners.

We wish to extend our most sincere gratitude and appreciation for our generous sponsors and donors!
