On December 11, 2014 in Washington, D.C., we convened new and returning members of our National Clearinghouse on Disability and Exchange (NCDE) Roundtable Consortium, an advisory committee of 25 prominent international exchange and disability organizations.
Together, members engaged in enriching dialogue, brainstorming, and discussion about priority issues in the international exchange and disability communities. The goal was to identify opportunities for collaboration to increase the participation of people with disabilities in the broad range of international exchange programs.
At the meeting, we also welcomed guest panelists who represent diverse backgrounds, disabilities, and international exchange program experiences. This includes two MIUSA exchange program alumni, two individuals who have participated in internships abroad in Sub-Saharan Africa, and two who have completed international exchange experiences in Jordan.
