International Women’s Day: Honoring Disabled Women Activists

Date:

On March 8th, the Eugene/Springfield community joined MIUSA for a celebration and reception honoring disabled women activists from around the world.

This was a time for reuniting with friends and making new contacts, all while taking a moment to celebrate International Women’s Day and plan more activism for the future!

The event featured:

  • Jenny Chinchilla, recipient of the Mike and Lisa Sygall Scholarship and disability rights activist from El Salvador
  • Select portraits and vignettes from Brilliant and Resilient, MIUSA’s world-traveling photo exhibit

Attendees included long-time MIUSA supporters, donors, and homestay families as well as community members who wanted to learn more about MIUSA’s work in disabled women’s empowerment. Thanks to all who attended!
