For over 38 years, MIUSA has been working to advance the global disability rights movement, mobilizing over 2300 alumni from more than 135 countries. We’ve been able to do this with support from current and former homestay families, community supporters, funders, staff, volunteers, interns, board members, and partners…that’s YOU!
To celebrate all these movers and shakers, you’re invited to a dance-themed fundraiser event… no dancing required! Enjoy delicious hors d’oeuvres, desserts, and mocktails while you meet our honored guests of the evening, all delegates of MIUSA’s 9th Women’s Institute on Leadership and Disability (WILD) exchange program. These disabled women activists are traveling to Eugene from the following countries:
Albania, Armenia, Bangladesh, Burundi, Cambodia, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Jordan, Kenya, Kyrgyzstan, Malawi, Mongolia, Myanmar, Panama, Philippines, Romania, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Turkey, Uruguay, Vanuatu, and Zimbabwe. You will have the opportunity to learn their stories, accomplishments – and their signature moves!
So let’s get moving! You won’t want to miss this high-energy and fun-filled night! Proceeds from ticket purchases, sponsorships, and donations for this event directly support MIUSA’s WILD program and other work to advance disability rights and leadership globally®.

Set sail aboard the SanJul and enjoy a warm summer evening sailing at Fern Ridge. You’ll be welcomed aboard by Skipper Sandy Shaffer, who will ensure your trip is safe, fun and memorable. You can choose to get involved by taking the helm, hoisting the sail, or just relax and listen to the water lap at the side of the boat. We’ll drop anchor or step ashore for hors d’oeuvres and light dinner before setting sail again at sunset. Sandy has enjoyed taking family and friends out on her small 17’ Cape Cod Catboat for the past 15 years.
