InterAction Forum and Board Meeting, 2017

Date:

All international development practitioners can play a role to reach people with disabilities worldwide.

The 2017 InterAction Forum brought together over 1000 NGO professionals from across the globe. There were several ways attendees were invited to engage with MIUSA staff during this invigorating week.

Breakout Session

Wednesday, June 21, 2017, 3:15 – 4:45 pm

When it comes to change-making in the field of international development, who is missing from the table? Whose voice is going unheard? MIUSA CEO and InterAction Board Member Susan Sygall joined staff from Leadership, Management, and Governance to present during the workshop “Who Are You Not Reaching? Innovative Strategies for Inclusion.” This session proposed ways forward for the inclusion (and infiltration) of persons with disabilities in development and health programming. The panel and subsequent round table discussions looked at the role of NGOs in supporting inclusion in their own organizations as well as in program design and implementation.
