The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted by the United Nations in 2015, promises international development will “leave no one behind”. Despite the fact that at least 20% of the world’s poorest are persons with disabilities, too often they are ignored in development strategies and NGO programs, further marginalizing one of the world’s most vulnerable populations.
The University of Washington’s Disability Inclusive Development Initiative is a multidisciplinary research and advocacy project that works
to support the inclusion of persons with disabilities in development. This workshop will offer practical strategies to help participants
recognize discrimination against persons with disabilities and make their work and the work of their organizations more inclusive.

Susan Sygall: CEO and Co-Founder, Mobility International USA
Alessandra Aresu: Inclusive Health Policy Lead, Humanity and Inclusion
