Virtual Career Fair 2024 – Global Careers for People with Disabilities

People with disabilities are needed in the fields of international development and humanitarian assistance, as well as international exchange and international education. They’re needed as staff, interns, leaders, board members, decision-makers, and more. Could a career in these fields be for you?

On March 28, 2024, Mobility International USA (MIUSA) hosted a virtual career fair, an opportunity to learn about employment and internship opportunities with some of the member organizations of MIUSA’s Excellence in Development and Disability Inclusion (EDDI) initiative as well as members of the National Clearinghouse on Disability and Exchange (NCDE) consortium. These organizations seek diverse team members – including people with disabilities in the U.S. and other countries – to contribute to the important work that they do around the world.

Presenting Organizations

  • Global Communities
  • Solidarity Center
  • CIEE
  • World Learning
  • Institute of International Education (IIE)
  • American Councils
  • Save the Children
  • United States Institutes of Peace (USIP)

During this recorded Zoom event, presenters from these organizations had 5 minutes each to share what their organizations do and what opportunities are available to US and non-US job-seekers. The final 15 minutes included a live Q&A with some of the presenters.

A Message from MIUSA CEO Susan Sygall

“I’m very passionate about building the pathway for people with all types of disabilities to be in these life-changing fields of international exchange or international development, which often allow you to meet people from other cultures. Whether you want to use your career to further the global disability justice movement or not, all options are valuable. It’s up to you what you decide to do with your life and the impact you want to make in the world!”
