Presenters will explore how people with disabilities are driving innovation in the field of international education.
November 7, 2018 - November 10, 2018

The future is accessible! That is the expectation as more people with disabilities - the world’s largest minority community - continue to enter mainstream spaces, assume leadership positions, and identify and advocate for full inclusion. Education abroad serves to create a pipeline of emerging leaders with disabilities equipped with the global competencies necessary to further social justice at a greater scale.

To fulfill the theme of the 2018 CIEE conference on international education, staff and alumni from MIUSA and CIEE will present a session exploring the principles of Universal Design and examining models from institutions and organizations that proactively address disability access in international education programming, from assessing accessibility at overseas sites to participant evaluation, and more.

Those planning to attend the conference are invited to join us for "Disability Driving Innovation: Building Accessibility into Our Design Thinking" at 10:45 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. local time.
