November 17, 2020 - November 19, 2020

After our Joining Hands Virtual Symposium many attendees appreciated our session on accessible virtual exchanges and they asked that we do it again. We learned more about the unique opportunities presenting in a virtual space and brought you a two-part series on accessible virtual exchange, which occurred during International Education Week (IEW) in 2020.

Part 1: Accessibility Considerations for Virtual Events

This webinar provided basic tips and considerations for planning accessible virtual events, including webinars and meetings. We discussed disability-specific accommodations, budgeting, and keys to ensure you are planning for disability inclusion at every stage of your virtual event.

Part 2: Implementing Accessible Virtual Exchange Programs

We heard from panelists who administer a broad range of youth and both inbound and outbound international exchange programs. Many providers had to make a quick shift to virtual programming and some were already boosting their digital offerings, such as World Learning's Digital Young Leaders Exchange Program (DYLEP). We heard from panelists about their experiences and tips to further enhance inclusion in international virtual exchange.
